“We as women all are flawed and have insecurities. But there’s comfort in knowing you’re not alone. And trust me you’re not. I overcame depression. I battled with the weight gain and losing site of who I was. Every woman battles with insecurities. Maybe it’s their hair, skin, or size. Whatever it is I want to encourage all women to face their insecurities and embrace their imperfections. It’s my passion to make women feel empowered, beautiful, and confident. This is why the beNAKED Society is so important. ~Angela Young
MISSION:
The beNAKED Brand seeks to empower, inspire, and encourage women to walk in their truth and wholeheartedly embrace their perfect imperfections without shame. We strive to ensure that women realize true beauty comes from within regardless how society defines it. We want women to celebrate, honor, and love the skin they are in breaking all stereotypical barriers. We believe that women can rise above fear and limitation to discover a whole new way of living that is full of freedom, purpose, and authentic happiness. Our aspiration is to cultivate experiences through various channels that will allow women to connect on a deeper level with each other, but most importantly themselves. This is a safe space for women to thrive with a boldness that others can learn from!
Over time, society and media have molded our idea of what the "perfect woman" looks like - untarnished, unblemished, and unscathed by life's realities. We've been led to believe that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", so we wake up every day and "put on" beauty to meet a man-made ideal. But at the end of the day, when the make-up is removed, the Spanks are taken off, and the hair is taken out, all we have left are feelings of insecurity and inadequacy.
May I submit a new position: What makes us beautiful isn't what we put on; what makes us beautiful is what we pour out.
You may not be a size 0, but your smile gives hope. You may not have naturally long, wavy hair, but your presence demands attention. You may not be hip to the latest fashion trends, but you inspire the people around you to be better.
God created us in the perfection of His image to be individuals…a unique reflection of His glory. We must learn to accept ourselves as the women God created. We must learn to embrace our perfect imperfections as a testament of God’s loving kindness.
We must learn to beNAKED and unashamed.
